Some general points to keep in mind
Ensure the piece is well lit, preferably with natural light, before you take the photo
Hold measuring tape or place a ruler on damaged areas to provide perspective on its size
Take photos front and back if damage has passed through an object
Provide photos of manufacturer marks, product numbers, branding, etc if available or visible
If in doubt, more is better than less when it comes to photos!
When sending photos, please include:
An overall photo of the entire piece
A photo of the front, back and sides
A photo of the entire damaged area
A close-up photo of the damage
